History

The roots of Lodge Cottrell can be traced back to the 19th century, when Professor, Sir Oliver Lodge made his first scientific attempt to separate dust and ash particles from flue gas. The Lodge Fume Deposit Company Limited was founded in Birmingham, England in 1913 by Sir Oliver Lodge who pioneered the electrostatic precipitation technique for removing dust. In 1922, the Lodge Fume Company changed its name to Lodge-Cottrell Ltd. in honor of Frederick Gardner Cottrell’s additional contributions to the development of electrostatic precipitation. In 1973 KC Cottrell was founded in Korea. In March 2005, Lodge Cottrell became part of the KC Cottrell Group whose corporate headquarters are based in Seoul, Korea. 2008 witnessed the establishment of Lodge Cottrell India, which was later renamed to KC Cottrell India Pvt. Ltd.
